ULC-257 Library Research Methods
2-credit course offered each fall & spring semester
This course is designed to introduce students to the University at Buffalo (UB) Libraries, to library information resources, and to appropriate methods of conducting research. The course will provide students with the skills necessary to select a research topic, to analyze information sources, to cite those sources properly, and to address the evolving issues of intellectual freedom, plagiarism, and copyright. Students who successfully complete ULC-257 will receive a waiver for their Library Skills Workbook requirement.
Goals
- Students will become effective and efficient researchers and library users
- Students will hone their abilities to analyze and critically evaluate information
- Students will develop the skills necessary for becoming information savvy, and for becoming life-long learners
