  • Arc View GIS 8 Produced by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI).

Cartographic Databases

  • Hammond Atlas of the World
    Hammond Incorporated, 1998.
Similar to print version (Map Rm Ref G1021 .H2665 1997); quick access by name, continent, coordinates, and many other methods. Allows for some customizing of maps, and can measure between two geographic points.

  • SAT 10 New York
    DeLorme, 2002.
"Using the Sat 10 data with XMap 3.5 or Topo USA 4.0, you can view 10-meter satellite data and find new roads and other map features that may not be seen in older, USGS map data. With the Sat 10 data, new roads are easy to find--displaying as bright white lines on the map. You can also use your DeLorme program's split-window functionality to view the satellite data along with 3-D TopoQuads or Topo USA 3.0/4.0 data"--Guide sheet.

  • Street Atlas USA 2004
    DeLorme, 2004.
Contains street level detail of U.S.

  • Topo USA (ver. 5)
    DeLorme, 2004.
Topo USA also allows you to make customized, three-dimensional (3-D) topographic maps using the USGS 1:24,000 scale topographic map series. Locate any place in the US quickly and easily; search by placename, ZIP code, area code, and exchange or latitude/longitude; profile backcountry travels for distance and elevation; fly around the country in a 3-D perspective. Topo USA also lets you add symbols and other elements, allowing you to further customize the map that you create.

Contents: V.1. Northeast --v.2. Southeast --v.3. Great Lakes and Plains --v.4. Southwest --v.5. Mountain states --v.6. Pacific West. Read more on this software. Also see the following title for detailed New York state maps.
