Neighborhood Boundaries:

North Houston Street
East Mulberry Street
South Canal Street
West Broadway

Notable Features:

Italian immigrants came into the neighborhood in the 1850's. Mott street was mostly Italian by 1880. The feast of San Gennaro was started in 1926, and is still held today.

City planners show that some of this neighborhood became part of Chinatown since 1960. In the city the restaurants and stores are still strong on Mott street.
