Notable Features: The Lower East Side is one of the most famous neighborhoods in America. The area comprehends the East Village and Tomkins Square. The Lower East Side neighborhood over time was home to many immigrants. Irish, German, Italians, Jewish, Russians, Ukrainians, and Poles. One of the largest enclaves was Jewish.
