Finding Articles

Journal Articles by Subject

If an instructor has already given you the topic or subject for an assignment, the hard task is figuring out which journal title or database to use. The UB Libraries provide a research tool called Resources by Subject which leads to databases and web sites related to specific subjects. The following example demonstrates using Resources by Subject.

Example

Your Com101 instructor has given you an assignment to find five full-text, peer-reviewed articles dealing with communications and information technology.

Go the UB Libraries Homepage and click into the Resources tab.

Next click on the Resources by Subject link.

Knowing that this is a Communications 101 assignment, check for Communication under the Browse by Academic Discipline section. The Communication link opens to a listing of databases compiled and recommeded by the Communication Subject Librarian for locating communications related research and articles.

Be sure to check out the additonal information provided on each Resources By Subject page, including links to subject guides.
