The Gov Online Learning Center (GoLearn) is a Governmentwide e-training site that provides Federal employees with one-stop access to a variety of high quality e-training courses and services. GoLearn advances the President's Management Agenda and supports agencies with the development of their human capital and the accomplishment of their missions.

Launched in July 2002, with technical support from the Department of Transportation, the first phase of the Gov Online Learning Center will be enhanced on a continuing basis with additional e-training courseware, products and services that meet Governmentwide needs.

How does using the GoLearn site benefit me?
Employees using www.golearn.gov can take advantage of:

• Convenience - If you have access to the World Wide Web, you can take courses anytime, anywhere, on demand, 24/7.
• Delivery - You can manage the learning process by setting your learning agenda and the order in which you complete courses.
• Professional Development - You can select e-training courses that impact performance and deliver results and use chat rooms to access Communities of Practice forums where knowledge and information are shared.

How can a Human Resource Development (HRD) specialist use the Gov Online Learning Center to develop the Federal workforce?
In addition to one-stop access to e-training courses, the GoLearn site offers multiple products and services that support Human Resource Development efforts to train and develop the Federal workforce:

• Tracking Flexibility - GoLearn provides a secure and reliable system for capturing and recording training data.
• High Quality e-Training Courses - Continuous learning is encouraged and supported by a robust inventory of thousands of e-courses updated to reflect the latest information. Courses are evaluated and selected based on preset criteria.
• Individual Development Plans (IDP) - There are links to Developmental Plans and maps to e-courses that assist employees in selecting and mapping out personalized learning plans.*
• Succession Planning - Knowledge management domains, with models linked to competencies and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) can assist in an agency's succession planning efforts.*
• Organizational Learning - You can tap into the knowledge of the Federal workforce with virtual conferencing, net meetings and Communities of Practice, collaborate online, share information, network and provide training.*
