Resources

The University at Buffalo Libraries leases 350 online research databases and over 10,000 electronic journals. Many are unavailable anywhere else in Western New York.

Best Basic Resources is intended to help patrons start the research process and is organized by subject type. Databases, Resources by Subject or Web Reference can be used to find articles in journals, magazines, newspapers, and similar resources. The libraries subscribe to over ten thousand Electronic Journals which may contain articles that are not available in full text in the research databases or in the Libraries' print collections.

The Library Skills Workbook is designed to introduce students to the UB Libraries information resources and to teach information literacy skills, including how to find books and articles and how to do research on databases and on the Internet. This is a General Education Program requirement for ALL UB undergraduates, including transfer students. Information literacy is an essential skill for today's graduates and the Workbook aims to teach strategies that will enable students to find quality information.
