The National Journal
The National Journal is the nation's premier weekly on politics, policy, and government. Published since 1969, it offers non-partisan coverage and analysis. Some of Washington's most insightful journalists contribute. Every story published since 1977 is archived and available.

In addition to the Journal itself, the following resources are available through the site.

Markup Reports
These reports provide detailed coverage of every bill, including roll call votes on amendments and final action. Links for web sites pertaining to the bill's context, origin and sponsorship are provided.

The Hotline
A daily briefing on American politics. Coverage is drawn from hundreds of newspapers, magazines, online sources, press releases, and television and radio programs. A critical resource for anyone seeking to stay current and up-to-the-minute with American state and federal politics.

CongressDaily
Each weekday (AM and PM) the alliances, deals, and strategies that move Congress forward - or hold it back -- are identified and explained.

TechnologyDaily
Twice daily, summarizes the politics and public policy debates - state, national, and international - that surround technology.

Almanac of American Politics
Published every two years, it is the best compendium available on the subject. Offers handy information on American political life, with sections on presidential politics, committees, leadership. elections, and demographic charts. In nearly 2,000 pages every senator, representative and governor, as well as the people and politics of every state and congressional district are profiled. The Almanac also provides interest group ratings, census data, key votes, campaign expenditures, election results and much more.

Ad Spotlight
Access to political and issue ads, with streaming video and audio. Each ad listed is summarized, and details regarding its origin and commercial aspects are provided.

Poll Track
Over 5,000 public opinion polls. Results are posted as soon as they are available. Here one can survey elections as they develop as well as the emerging trends on an election or issue.

Book Review
A guide and collection of reviews to books useful to politicians and those engaged in public policy work. Many complementary features and the archive extends back to 2001. "The books featured . . . offer history, analysis and plain old data that can help readers do their job -- and look smarter in the process."

Buzz Columns
A daily collection of commentary and political scuttlebutt.

Campaigns
Detailed coverage of all house, senate, and gubernatorial races. Material is drawn from the National Journal Group's Hotline and campaign ads and polls.

Daybook
A calendar and schedule for daily events, on and off the Hill, from hearings and conferences and votes, to cases scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court. One can search forward for planned events.
