GUTENBERG-e
Description
This is not a topically cohesive resource, but the electronic historical monograph explored and demonstrated with a "collection" of "examples." Through a competitive process, the authors of fine dissertations receive financial support to turn their dissertations into electronic books. A collaborative effort of Columbia University Press and the American Historical Association. Funding is provided by the Andrew W. Melon Foundation. These digital monographs can be printed, but the digital versions offer features such as extra-documentation, hyperlinks to supplementary literature, images, music, video, as well as links to related Web sites. For insight into the project see About Gutenberg-e.Contains leads to digital monographs. The topical groupings of awards already granted are as follows. 1999: Africa, Colonial Latin America, and South Asia. 2000: Europe before 1800. 2001: Military History and the History of Foreign Relations. 2002: History of North America before 1900.
