Description

The MLA International Bibliography, which is compiled by the Modern Language Association of America, contains citations to books, journal articles and dissertations published on literature, modern languages, linguistics, and folklore. In addition to English and American literature, it also covers European, Asian, African, and Latin American literatures. The database has over 1.3 million citations from more than 4,000 journals and series published worldwide.

Leads to citations to books, essays within collections, journal articles, proceedings, and dissertations.

Special Features - Includes electronic access to the MLA Directory of Periodicals, which provides full information on more than 3,000 journals and book series in the MLA International Bibliography Master List of Periodicals. Directory entries include editor's name and contact information, date first published, sponsoring organization, ISSN (when known), and MLA acronym, as well as sections detailing subscription information, advertising information, editorial description, and submission requirements. In addition, there are five indexes: Editorial Personnel, Languages Published, Sponsoring Organizations, Periodicals with Author-Anonymous Submission Policy and Subjects. The electronic Directory of Periodicals is updated every six months.
