A not-for-profit ongoing project co-sponsored by the Music Library Association, Index to Printed Music: Collections & Series indexes individual pieces of historically-significant music printed in scholarly editions. The music is published in sets and series categorized by composer, geographical area, time or style, original source (usually manuscripts), and by general anthologies. Ideal resource for scholars, performers, and conductors.Leads to approximately 135,000 citations to musical works, their composers (poets, librettists, etc.), the titles of individual volumes, and the series titles and volumes in which they are located.
Dates Covered
19th century to the present; continual records added to complete indexing of print bibliography, and to add new titles.
