Online Exhibit Student Poster Art: "Pulp Fiction and Pop Culture at UB" Discovery Seminar Posters created by students in the Spring 2007 and Spring 2008 seminars are displayed here. The posters demonstrate creative and intriguing use of digital images to communicate a personal message and/or make a unique artistic statement. The seminars were taught by Judith Adams-Volpe , Director of Communication for the UB Libraries. |

Lockwood Memorial Library Gran Colombia Collection July 2008-September 2008 Arriving in Buffalo through purchases in the 1960s, the Gran Colombia Collection of books and manuscripts has been a hidden gem of the University Libraries Special Collections. This exhibit of largely digital surrogates features manuscripts and rare books from the Collection. Originally assembled by General Francisco de Paula Santander and his family in Colombia, the Collection covers the former country of Gran Colombia and its evolution into the nations of Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Venezuela with emphases on exploration, conquest, political history, and the search for El Dorado, the legendary City of Gold in the jungle. |

Music Library Baird Hall, 1st Floor "University School Songs: 1903-2008" May 20, 2008-January 15, 2009 This exhibit, co-curated by Jason Imbesi and Molly O'Brien, provides some historical background on the University's songs: the alma mater, fight songs, hymns, marches, and songs associated with specific schools of the university. The composers and lyricists of these songs include university faculty, staff, and students, as well as locally and nationally known composers. The exhibit also provides brief biographical information about many of the composers.

"Opening Doors "celebrates the contributions of African American academic surgeons to medicine and medical education. It tells the stories of four pioneering African American surgeons and educators who exemplify excellence in their fields and believe in continuing the journey of excellence through the education and mentoring of younger physicians and surgeons.
