Gather in Buffalo to Raise Voices in Song

GRAND CONCERT TONIGHT

Reception Last Night at Fillmore Hall Attended
by Many Prominent Buffalonians -
Programme for Today and Tomorrow

"Gora Piesn."
On a large banner and shield over the stage in Fillmore Hall last night the above words were inscribed. In English it means "Hail to the Song," and is the emblem of the United Polish Singers, who commenced their twelfth annual gathering there, in the interest of Polish melodies, last evening.

The 500 singers, 200 of whom are residents of Buffalo, did little routine business last night. There was a reception for the visitors, many addresses of welcome and some songs. Music plays a large part as is an essential feature in the annual convention.

Leo Olszewski of Buffalo, director general of music for the society, introduced a special chorus of picked voices from the three Polish singing societies in this city, the song being a new composition by Director Olszewski and appropriate to the occasion, "Welcome All."

Mayor Diehl followed with a greeting and committees from the Polish National Alliance, the Polish Young Men's Alliance and the Polish Young Women's Alliance also framed words of welcome.

At 3 o'clock this afternoon there will be a general rehearsal and in the evening a concert at the hall.
