Changing Your UB IT Password
If you are unable to log on to Library Research or Cybrary Stations or if you can log on to these stations but cannot print, your UB IT password does not meet University security standards and your password must be changed. It is important that you keep your account safe from others. You can change your password online right from the Library Research and Cybrary Stations by doing the following:
- Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to log on
- Enter your username
- Enter your password
- Click OPTIONS
- Scroll down to dce.buffalo.edu (Kerberos Realm)
- Press ENTER
- Once logged on launch Internet browser
- Go to the following web site: https://ldap.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/chpass.pl
- Read the instructions for choosing a secure password and follow the prompts accordingly
The new password must be at least 6 characters in length and must contain 3 of the 4 options below or else it will not be accepted:
- Upper case letters
- Lower case letters
- Numbers
- Using one or more of the following characters:
! @ # $ % ^ ∓ * ( ) _ + = | \ ~ ` { [ ] } ; " ' < , > ? /
Once changed, log off from the workstation and log on using your new password.
