The Jewish Community of Buffalo, New York holds a rich, extensive history, evident in the records of the Jewish Archives of Greater Buffalo. Historical information on Congregation of B'rith Sholem and Temple Sinai is forthcoming.
Series I, B'rith Sholem records include account books dating from 1884, the majority of which are written in Hebrew, small receipt books and memorandum pads, Hebrew Almanac for the year 5700, and one record book of the Young Peoples Society. Series I also includes correspondence relating to cemetery matters, membership records, meeting minutes, and information regarding displaced persons as a result of World War II.
Papers of Temple Sinai, Series II document Temple administration and include financial records, committee minutes, constitution and by-laws, membership records, correspondence, reports of presidents, building campaigns, and bulletins.
