The Harvest Dance

(started in 1934)

An annual event starting in 1934, the Harvest Dance was a costumed affair usually held during Homecoming Weekend. Prizes were given for the most original costume, funniest costume, most attractive costume, and best couple. Some years had specific themes: in 1941 had a pirate theme while in 1939 the Harvest Dance committee introduced a new idea: a Lil'Abner inspired "Sadie Hawkins Dance."
