OLAC CAPC
DVD Cataloging Task Force

The DVD Cataloging Task Force is charged with developing guidelines to aid in the cataloging of materials issued in DVD format. The guidelines will provide a basic introduction to DVDs, explanations of the different types of DVDs, discussion of problems associated with identifying relevant information, suggestions for successful cataloging DVDs based on the appropriate rules in AACR2R, applicable amendments and LC Rule Interpretations. MARC-coded examples which illustrate solutions to common problems will be provided. A selected list of reference sources (print and electronic) will be created. Publication of the guidelines will be initially on the OLAC website with possible paper distribution as an option.
