RECYCLING IN THE MONOGRAPHS DIVISION

  • Every desk should have a small blue bin for the disposal of recycled paper that will be emptied periodically by the CTS Recycling Team. The blue bins contain signs instructing cleaners to empty only the garbage.
  • Cardboard should be broken down, taken out to the dock and placed in the gray bins next to the stairs.
  • Receptacles for glass, metal, and plastic are located near the staff elevators and restrooms in CTS. Additional receptacles are located by the staff elevators in Lockwood on floors 3, 4 and 5 and in the basement of Lockwood's kitchen area.
  • Containers for batteries, CDs, diskettes and ink cartridges are also located near the staff elevators.
  • Withdrawn books should be discarded in blue recycle containers located on the dock.
  • Withdrawn microfilm and microfiche should be placed in the large yellow bin located in the back storeroom near the elevator. Fiche should be separated from their paper sleeves. Dispose of sleeves in blue recycle bins. Film should be removed from their boxes and unrolled from reels (when feasible). Place boxes in blue recycle bins and plastic reels in brown recycle bins on the dock.
