Steve joined the University Libraries in 1977 charged to oversee the migration of major library units from the South to the North Campus. He has been an investigator in numerous nationally-sponsored grant programs funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Council on Library Resources that have focused on the utilization of emerging technologies to facilitate sharing of costly resources and publications among research libraries, or on the implementation of technologies to enhance use and access to special collections.
