Welcome message from
Welcome to the University at Buffalo Health Sciences Library's Web Pages, designed to be your electronic gateway to information about our collections and services as well as to the global network of health information.
Our mission, undertaken with a commitment to the continuing education of our users and staff, is to advance knowledge by developing, managing, and providing access to health information resources.
Located on the UB South (or Main Street) Campus, the HSL focuses its resources and services to meet the information needs of the University's five health sciences schools as well as health professionals and organizations throughout Western New York. Our resources include over 5,500 current biomedical journal subscriptions - most full-text online accessible, over 350,000 volumes of print books and journals, over 3,000 audiovisual programs, a marvelous history of medicine collection including rare medical instruments, and a growing array of other electronic information resources.
Our staff looks forward to helping you here in person or as you connect to us through the communications networks of the World-Wide Web. As Director of the Health Sciences Library, I encourage you to explore the health information resources of our library and the world through this electronic gateway.
Gary D. Byrd, Ph.D.
