Reference Catalogs In addition to current guides to recent comics, librarians will benefit from consulting retrospective comic book catalogs. Such catalogs are intended primarily as price guides for collectors and dealers, but they can be invaluable general reference tools as well. The preeminent retrospective catalog is the annual Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide from Gemstone Publishing. Overstreet lists the complete publishing history for thousands of current, recent, and long-dead titles. It meticulously cites start and end dates, title changes, related titles, and other vital bibliographic information.
