The collection contains two hundred sixteen music scores owned by percussionist and conductor Jan Williams. The majority of the scores, chiefly from the 1950s to 1990s, contain markings by Williams (and others) for performing the compositions. While some of the performance markings are negligible, others constitute full realizations of aleatoric compositions. In some cases only handwritten notes indicate how a composition was to be performed.
