An international representation of hundreds of concert programs and series with an emphasis on new music. Slide Collection (35mm)
Formed by Prof. James McKinnon as a basis for his iconographical studies of early music. Some 2,000 slides of manuscripts--principally their initials and capitals--from the Bodleian, London's National Gallery, the Musée Condé, the Pierpont Morgan Library, Musée de Cluny, Museo de San Marco, Palazzo Poggi, the Hermitage, Chartres Cathedral, the Rijksmuseum, and dozens more. Materials appear under entries for manuscript source and intriguing subject headings in a highly-detailed card catalogue. A few of them: Marginalia -- 8th century; Christ -- Flagellation; David and Fool; Initial, inhabited; Muses, nine; Grotesqueries; C (and all other letters); Magi; Animals, singing; Villiany; and Siren.
